Position Summary

In this position you are accountable for soliciting, selling, organizing and finalizing all arrangements for meetings, conventions and social functions & group bookings. The majority of your concentration will be generating revenue for guest rooms for all segments and all F&B outlets, including but not limited to the Bistro 515, lounge and restaurant & The Banquet/Meeting Space.

1. Assisting the Holiday Inn & Suites-Gateway in achieving and exceeding budgeted room and banquet/catering and outlet F&B.

2. Generating a minimum of 50 calls weekly encompassing telemarketing, site inspections and outside field calls. With weekly documentation.

3. Participating in weekly staff meetings.

4. Participating in group resume meetings as needed.

5. Participating in weekly yield meeting, based on GM requirements

6. Participating in weekly BEO meeting.

7. Working with General Manager/ Guest Service Manager/Executive Chef on all up coming functions and local accounts.

8. Required to have full understanding of all property specific operational practices.

9. Assisting all operations in the execution of all events when required.

10. Full understanding of all computer systems, Delphi, & Opera

11. Having a full understanding of all paper flow and being self-contained with all administrative needs. Including documentation and follow up of all inquires.

12. Responsibilities include selling both meeting rooms and food and beverage.

13. Responsibility includes selling group rooms in conjunction with meeting space.

14. Understanding all Holiday Inn programs and procedures.

15. Management development, you are required to participate in the manager on duty program. This requirement will be defined by your General Manager.

16. Following all proper payment procedures.

17. Taking full ownership to all functions, including processing of all payment destinations.

18. Supervise, monitor and work concurrently with RDOSM taking appropriate action concerning marketing/sales department administration and tracking systems.

19. Investigating and analyzing current activities or information and indicating logical conclusions and recommendations; Ability to make decisions guided by established policies and procedures; Must possess highly developed communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell and influence the managerial personnel, hotel guest(s) and/or corporate clients.

20. Daily checking of banquet event order through analyzing printed event orders vs. system data in addition to function status of future events to further assist in accuracy of data as well as ensure information is being distributed to required departments in a timely fashion.

21. Assist the General Manager in the research, development and completion of an annual business or marketing plan.

22. Perform other services and duties as requested by the General Manager. Sales Managers may be called on to assist with host functions and participate in, or conduct sales blitzes, travel and work extended hours to achieve departmental goals.

23. Responsible for the monthly Banquet/Catering booking goals report.

24. Assist in the development of new reports and systems as they become necessary in the future.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
